VANCOUVER -- B.C. singer and songwriter Nelly Furtado will donate $1 million she received for performing for the family of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.
The Victoria-born songstress made the announcement via her Twitter page on Monday morning.
"In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Qaddafi clan to perform a 45 min. Show for guests at a hotel in Italy. I am going to donate the $," she wrote.
Furtado is one of several celebrities who have come under fire recently after reports from the New York Times and a WikiLeaks document released earlier this month revealed several entertainers had received extravagant sums to perform for the dictator's family. Click HERE for more
