Liverpool’s Fernando Torres was “waiting” for a move to Barcelona just days before the striker publicly stated his intention to stay at Anfield, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Now... who needs Fiberglass if they could have El Nino?
The Spanish newspaper reported that Torres had no interest in joining money-bags Manchester City or Chelsea, despite the London club reportedly bidding £40m for the player.
Instead, the World Cup winner was reported to be “excited” about a move to La Liga champions.
The report sources a close friend of both Torres and Barca President Sandro Rosell – and claims that contact between the two was made before the new president was elected in July.
