KUALA LUMPUR –The book which takes a critical look at how Dr Mahathir Mohamad led Malaysia as prime minister from 1981 to 2003 will be on local bookshelves at last. The controversial political biography, titled Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Times, by Australian journalist Barry Wain, is expected to hit newsstands and bookstores across the country early next week.
The book was earlier withheld by the Home Ministry's Quran Publication Control and Text Division as it wanted to study the contents in depth. The former prime minister has said that he wanted the book, written by the veteran writer to be released...MORE
